Sore throat

If you’re having a sore throat don’t worry you can also treat it at home. Usually a sore throat can have many causes like: viruses or mechanical causes like the mouth breathing.

If you’re having symptoms like pain, burning or also some itchy sensations that come from the back of your throat and if you’re having troubles when you’re swallowing than you can be very sure that you’re having a sore throat problem. These symptoms can come along with coughing, sneezing or fever or also swollen lymph nodes.

If you’re looking for home remedies because you want to treat your sore throat at home here are some ideas:

  • You can try saltwater gargles;
  • Buy some sprays, lozenges or humidifiers from the pharmacy.

If you’re having little children don’t give them lozenges because they represent a choking hazard.

If you’re having a rapid onset and fever associated with the sore throat stop any type of home treatment and go directly to your doctor because can be a much serious problem than you expected. Also, if you have big problems when you swallow, not just pain, or breathing difficulties you should consult a health care professional.

If a person can’t take its’ own medication or has palpitations and has the lips and the tongue all swell up go in a hurry to see the doctor because this sore throat problem can turn into something more than a simple health problem. Another tip that can transform a sore throat problem in a bigger problem is the timing of the illness: if you’re having a sore throat that lasts more than one week you should definitely see a specialist.

If you’re going to become a mother and you’re having difficulties with a sore throat that lasts more than three days than in this case go quickly to the doctor and tell everything about it. Women’s health during pregnancy is very delicate and she can’t be subjected to normal medication because it might affect the fetus; therefore, your supervising doctor must adapt treatments accordingly.
